Neil Hay, SolicitorNeil Hay, M.A. (Hons), LL.B., Dip.L.P.

As a Solicitor Advocate and criminal defence specialist, Neil represents clients accused of serious crimes in the High Court and in the Sheriff Court. He also acts for clients in the Court of Appeal. Neil is one of the few lawyers in Scotland to have both the advanced Advocacy and advanced Trial skills qualification from the American National Institute for Trial Advocacy.

Legal education is one Neil’s particular interests. Neil is a member of the academic staff at the School of Law, University of Glasgow. He is a lecturer in Court Advocacy and a tutor in Criminal Litigation. Neil is also a member of the Professional Practice Committee of the Centre for Law at Edinburgh Napier University where he was also formerly a lecturer in Evidence. Neil is also often asked to deliver seminars and training in Criminal Law, Evidence and Court Advocacy.
